Evans School of Public Affairs, University of Washington.

 

Occupation: Director of Public Affairs for the Puget Sound Partnership, a multi-jurisdictional state agency dedicated to the restoration of Puget Sound.

 

Professional Qualifications: Experience building collaborative partnerships to advance local, regional and national relations; Director of Public Affairs, Puget Sound Partnership; Director of Government and Community Relations, Washington State Department of Natural Resources; Legislative Aide, Washington State House of Representatives; Gubernatorial appointee, Commissioner, Washington State Commission for National and Community Service; U.S. Delegate to Australia, American Council of Young Political Leaders; Board of Directors, Join Hands Corporation, Chicago, Illinois; National Steering Committee, National Fraternal Congress of America; Board of Directors, Association of State Service Commissions, Washington DC.

 

Personal Information: Born and raised in Washington State; married to my best friend Jenny and proud father of our daughter Katherine. Resident of DuPont since 2005.

 

Community Involvement: DuPont City Council, appointed February 2009 and elected 2010; DuPont Planning Agency Member; DuPont Lions; active in church and charity organizations; Sunday School teacher and former volunteer wildland fire fighter.

Education: Graduate of Everett High School and Everett Community College; Washington State University (BS in Psychology) ; Western Washington State University (M Ed in counseling); Post graduate studies at New York State University and University of Puget Sound; certified in public school administration; Association of Washington Cities Municipal Leadership Program; US Army and Air Force technical/leadership training program; and certified as a senior enlisted instructor.

Occupation: Retired

Professional Qualifications: Instructor of Psychology, American Government, and legal practices; Senior NCO (E-9) in both the Army and Air Force military Services; and decorated for outstanding leadership.

Personal Information: Born in Everett Washington, married Sharon (Sumner girl) for 45 years; two adult daughters living in Southern California, and three grandchildren; interest in church activities, family functions, Seattle Mariners, WSU Cougars, Community service, golfing, bowling, improving computer skills, problem solving through gathering and analyzing relevant information, creative thinking, strategic planning and organizational structuring.

Community Involvement: DuPont City Council 2003 - Present; Chair, DuPont Cultural Heritage Committee; served on DuPont Citizen Advisory Committee for Taxation (2003); active in church and charity organizations; local political party affiliation; and member of greater DuPont Kiwanis, DuPont Historical Society, and various civic affairs.

Education: I graduated from West Seattle High School and attended Washington State University, University of Washington, Tacoma Community College, South Puget Sound Community College, and numerous classes with the American Institute of Banking

 

Occupation: Retired

Professional Qualifications: I spent twety-six years in banking as a teller, New Accounts Clerk, Commercial Loans Clerical Supervisor, Assistant Manager overseeing branch operations and consumer loans.  Also, I was an Auditor (corprate officer) assigned to auditing the Trust Department.  My husband and I owned and operated a restaurant in McCleary, WA, which we sold after three years.  For the last fourteen years before retirement, I worked as an office manager for a sizable real estate firm in Tacoma.  I was full-charge bookkeeper, handled hundreds of real estate contract collections, and supervised office personnel.  I taught beginning accounting at Clover Park Technical College for a year until my late husband's failing health required more of my attention.

Personal Information: I was born and raised in West Seattle.  My father owned and operated a marina and boat repair business and my mother was a fourth grade teacher.  I have three brothers, a sister, and one son, Lennard Jordan, who lives with his wife Cheryl in Yakima.  Len is a Senior Project Planner for Yakima County and Cheryl teaches third grade.  They have two sons, both of whom are in the Air Force.


Community Involvement: I was a member of the DuPont Planning Agency for six-years and was Chair for two-years.  I have volunteered in numerous capacitites at the annual Fourth of July celebration and for many other functions throughout almost all of the sixteen years I've lived here.  I attended the DuPont Citizen's Police Academy, have been part of the Forever Young seniors group, been on the review comittee for the Northwest Landing ROA and I belong to the Page Turner's Book Club.  I was Secretary and President of the Bay Colony Homeowners Association and I am a charter member of the DuPont Lion's Club.  I have been Treasurer of three campaigns.  One was for a Council Candidate and two were for the EMS Levy renewals.

Community Involvement: Board member and past President, Bay Colony Condominiums; volunteer for "Yes for DuPont" Proposition No. 1 in 2003; volunteer school bond levy; and volunteer "Continue DuPont EMS" on OMS Levy renewal in 2005.

Professional Qualifications: DuPont City Council 2003-present, AWC Certified and Advanced Certified Municipal Leadership certification, 35-year experience in fiscal and accounting matters.

Personal Information: Washington State Native; 31-year resident of Pierce County; DuPont Resident since 1998; Married, husband Roy is a realtor/retired firefighter; and two married daughters, 5 grandchildren, 1 step-granddaugher.

Community Involvement: DuPont Citizens Police Academy, Annual Egg Hunt volunteer; Planning Agency member, Friends of the DuPont Library members; Residential Owner's Association Budget Committee, DuPont Citizens Advisory Committee; Kiwanis; helped with the school bond levy; Ci-Chair, DuPont Centennial Committee, raised $13k in donations for music festival in 2006 - 2007; Civic Center Committee; and Cultural Heritage Committee Co-Chair.

Personal Information: Has lived in DuPont with her partner since 2003.

Community Involvement: Currently chairman of the Planning Agency,  member of the special Cultural Heritage Committee appointed by the City council, and  member of the DuPont Historical Society.

Occupation: Retired U.S. Army Colonel

Professional Qualifications: U.S. Army officer 30 years, retired Colonel; includes Army Aviator in variety of command and staff positions, commanding up thru brigade level; Chief of Staff 1st Infantry Division and Deputy Chief of Staff for I Corps; Pentagon Army Staff 2001-02; four deployments, 2 each to Bosnia and Iraq, and Board of Directors ROA, Northwest Landing, 2011.

Personal Information: Raised in an Army family, I arrived in Lakewood in 1974 and knew I would eventually settle here. My wife of 28 years and I had early assignments at Ft Lewis and have followed local issues and voted in elections since 1977. Our two children are students at UW.  I am an original and long devoted, suffering, Seahawk and Mariners fan.

Community Service: Life-long involvement with Boy Scouts in various positions; active in local church wherever assigned; currently serving as Treasurer of Christ Lutheran Church in Lakewood.

Personal Information: Born in the Midwest; moved to California during High School years, and remained there during career, after retirement moved to DuPont; married to wife, Jean; two children, son and daughter-in-law live in Bellingham, daughter lives in Puyallup.

Community involvement: DuPont City Council 2005-present; member of DuPont Presbyterian Church; member of Friends of the DuPont library; past chairperson of the DuPont Park Agency; member of DuPont committee to pass district school bond.
